Welcome to the 60th Annual Tipp City Mum Festival

On behalf of the Mum Festival committees and volunteers I am honored to welcome you to the 2018 Tipp City Mum Festival. 2018 is a year of anniversaries and milestones for Tipp City and the surrounding area. This year I am honored to preside as president over the 60th annual Tipp City Mum Festival. This year we also celebrate the 40th annual Run for the Mums as well of the 200th anniversary of the founding of Monroe Township. In honor of these anniversaries the theme of this year’s Mum Festival is 60 Years in the Books.

The festival activities kicked off earlier this summer with the Queen’s Pageant. This year’s Queen is Emily Ringo of Tipp City.

On Sunday, September 9th, the 12th annual Mum Festival Motorcycle Charity ride takes place. All proceeds from this run benefit the Tipp City Needy Basket. A check will be presented to Needy Basket during the Mum Festival on Sunday afternoon, September 30th.

Festival weekend events begin Friday, September 28th at 4 p.m. with the 27th annual Antique and Show Car Cruise In. This is one of the bigger car shows in the area and largest festival car show in Ohio.

Saturday morning, September 29th, the festivities begin with the 40th annual Run for the Mums at 8 a.m. in the City Park, followed by the annual Mum Festival parade. The parade route travels down Main Street through historic downtown Tipp City. The parade begins at 10 a.m. with local and surrounding area bands, floats, clowns, classic cars, and many other entertaining units.

After the parade, be sure to visit the festival at the Tipp City Park, located at the intersection of North Third Street and Parkwood Drive. Visitors to the festival in the park will find over 250 booths with great arts and crafts, delicious treats, and wide variety of merchants. We also have a large stage providing wonderful entertainment by the best local talent. The park will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Little Miss and Mister Mum will be part of the entertainment on the Main Stage on Saturday, September 29th from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. We know all the participants will love the added audience and we believe all festivals goers will enjoy seeing our future leaders vie for their respective crowns.

Children, big and small, will enjoy the 18th annual Mum’s Kids Land presented by the Greenville Federal Bank on the tennis courts inside the park. Allow the kids to burn off some energy while playing on the inflatables and participate in other activities from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

I want to thank the committees and the volunteers for the tireless effort and dedication. Furthermore, I want to thank our numerous sponsors for their generous contributions to the Mum Festival. Without the help and support of these people and organizations, the Mum Festival would not be possible. Again, we thank everyone for their support and I hope you enjoy the 60th annual Tipp City Mum Festival.

William H. House, 2018 Tipp City Mum Festival President
